Q: How do I submit my application?
A: Click the application link on the left hand side for the application and more information.  Beginning in 2012, we move to an all online application process.

Q: What if my application is incomplete?
A: Incomplete applications will not be considered for a scholarship. It is your responsibility to make sure your application is complete. Reach Scholars Foundation will not hold incomplete applications for further consideration, so be sure it is complete when you submit it to us.

Q: How are the awards determined?
A: The Reach Scholars Foundation selection committee reads and reviews all applications. Each applicant is evaluated for academic achievement and ability, demonstrated leadership and involvement, outstanding character, and financial need. The committee then determines the list of finalists. Each of the finalists is contacted via telephone to schedule an in person interview. All other applicants will be notified of their status by mail. Each of the finalists is individually interviewed. Once the interviews are completed, the selection committee determines the final award recipient(s) and determines the scholarship values. Each of the finalists is contacted by telephone to learn the committee’s decisions.

Q: How is the amount of the scholarship determined?
A: The Reach Scholars Foundation selection committee determines the scholarship award level once the final award recipients have been selected. There is a total pool of funds available for all scholarships in a given year – both new and continuing recipients. If you receive a renewable award and meet the requirements for renewability outlined below, the value of your scholarship will not be reduced in future years

Q: Are all of the scholarships renewable?
A: Scholarships may be renewable for four years or scholarships may be one time. Scholarships recipients will be advised of their scholarship status at the time of the award. The Reach Scholars Foundation selection committee will determine if a scholarship award is renewable or one time.

Q: Is the interview required to receive a Reach Scholarship?
A: Those applicants identified as finalists in the scholarship selection process are required to participate in an interview with members of the Reach Scholars Foundation selection committee. The interview is meant to be an informal and causal opportunity for the selection committee to get to know the applicant better. Applicants should feel no need to prepare for interviews.

Q: When are the awards announced?
A: All scholarship awards will be determined and communicated by July 31.

Q: How will I be notified?
A: After the selection committee reviews all the applications, you will either be contacted by mail or by telephone. Those applications selected as finalists for the scholarship consideration will be contacted by phone. All applications that are not finalists will receive a letter in the mail. Following interviews with the finalists, the selection committee will contact all the finalists to let them know if they have or have not been awarded a scholarship. This contact will be made via telephone.

Q: How are the scholarship funds distributed?
A: The scholarship awards are distributed directly to the college or university in which the recipient is enrolled. No funds will be distributed directly to the scholarship recipient

.Q: What are the requirements to renew a renewable scholarship?
A: If eligible for renewal, students must meet all criteria of the standard academic progress policy as established by their university. Additionally, the student must maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and must have a declared major in science, engineering, mathematics, computer science, business, economics or finance. At the end of each school year, students will be asked to complete an application update form and submit a transcript from the completed school year. Once this information has been provided to the Reach Scholars Foundation and it is determined that the above requirements have been met, the scholarship will be renewed for the next school year.

Q: Who do I contact if I have more questions?
